C-Section, Say what??

Many of you know Dave and I are expecting our second child. This time it is a little different because I am having to have a c-section. This is not ideal but it is the safest way to get our baby girl here. The reason we are having to go this direction is because she is breech and will not turn over. We started watching this after my 32 week ultrasound. At my 34 week visit there was no progress so we talked about me seeing a Chiropractor. Luckily, later that week I was going to be seeing one of my patients who is a chiropractor in Fort Worth. She owns Path to Wellness Chiropractic. I thought this would be a great time to talk with her and tell her I was considering making an appointment to come in. She told me they have 4 people who specialize in pre-natal adjusting. She did tell me it is very successful but there are times they can not get a baby to turn. After we talked I just did not feel 100% comfortable that I wanted to do this. It was just a gut feeling that I was following. (I am sure I would have been fine) So I decided to look into the spinning babies techniques that friends had mentioned to me. I did try some of exercises/techniques to see if that may help. At my 36 week checkup and ultrasound she was still head up so we started to get a game plan incase we needed to do a cesarian. At this appointment we talked about some reasons why babies stay breech. A couple that we discussed were, the shape of the uterus and/or a short umbilical cord. The short cord was my doctors suspicion. Typically on an ultrasound you can't really tell the length of the cord because it is floating around. Well...we were able to see on this one the entire cord. It is very short. It is a thick cord so she is getting good blood supply but it is not long. After seeing this we went ahead and scheduled the c-section for April 4th, 2019. This is all so different from my first pregnancy. Rhett was in position around 32 weeks and I went into labor 2 weeks early. My water broke on its own and I delivered naturally. (with an epidural) :) Needless to say I am a little bit nervous because of the unknown but I know everything will be ok.
