We just recently celebrated Rhett's second birthday. We planned the party for Saturday, March 9th. Rhetts actual birthday was on March 10th. I had a hard time trying to figure out what to do since he was only going to be 2. I did not want to do anything big but I wanted it to be fun. First I had to figure out what theme I was going to do. Since Rhett is not really interested in animated cartoons I decided to do something with the color Blue and the number 2. When Rhett started learning his colors, everything was BLUE so that is why I chose to do this. I ordered his invitations from the Etsy Shop MYMYPARTY. The invitation was a digital file that I uploaded to Shutteryfly to have them printed. I had my friend that runs Crumble and Flake Bake Shoppe make our cake and cookies. I also got a shirt made for Rhett from the Etsy Shop MaleyDesigns. I ordered helium filled balloons from Party City. We got 12 regular balloons that were a mix of dark Blue, light Blue and White. I also got the big letter balloons that spelled "TWO". They were Blue and I also got a big Silver "2". We did small finger foods since the party was going to be after lunch. So we had a meat/cheese tray and a fruit tray for something to munch on. We were considering getting a bounce house but there was wind and rain in the forecast for the day of the party so we did not get one. I ended up buying around 200 blue balloons to blow up to have in our dining room for the smaller kids to play with since it was supposed to be raining all day. So lets fast forward to Friday (day before the party) I am out running errands and finishing up small things for the party and I get a call from Rhett's school that he is throwing up. So I go pick him up. At this point he does not have fever, so I decide I am going to go ahead and still go to the grocery store...well on the way from school to the store Rhett starts throwing up in my car! It was terrible. Needless to say we went straight home. When we got home he had started running a low fever so I gave him some Tylenol and some Pedialyte and he laid on the couch and watched Blippi. (he is obsessed with this on you tube) When he woke up on Saturday he had a low fever so I had to text everyone that was going to come to the party and give them a heads up about Rhett not being 100% well. This did cut down on how many people ended up coming, but I completely understood. Luckily Rhett never threw up again but Tuesday of the following week I got a call that he had 102.7 fever So I had to leave work and take him to the doctor. He ended up having a double ear infection. So we got an antibiotic and he is all better now!! So enjoy some pictures from the Party!!
